to discourage builds that are just a bunch of plots full of high prestige blocks) exotic colors (colors from other worlds).block variety (different types of blocks).Prestige base values by block are as follows, but please note the modifiers explained below.īeacon prestige is calculated by adding together the base prestige value of all blocks within the beacon, and then applying a multiplier based on several factors: More information available in this spreadsheet. Using that example, with an Outpost, the formula for footfall would be 20c * 0.25 * 2 = 10c. For example, someone visiting two days in a row will receive a 25% modifier for the second visit, but if your beacon has less than 5 visitors, it would get an additional 200% modifier. This is modified by both the time since last visit and the total number of recent visitors. The Settlement with the highest Prestige will be granted the title of Capital on that World and shows up as a yellow indicator on the Compass.īase footfall numbers are presented in the table below. Settlements whose prestige is too small will not be classified at all and not be given a name.Ī Beacon in the Settlement will show a ranking of up to the 5 top contributors to the settlement, and Settlements are visible on Worlds in the sky when holding a Totem. The Warden gets the privilege of naming or renaming the Settlement. The Citizen owning the Beacon with the highest Prestige becomes the Warden or Mayor of the Settlement. The amount of Footfall granted to each Beacon in the Settlement is proportional to the percentage of total Settlement Prestige contributed. A settlement consists of at least one Beacon, but may have many Beacons owned by many Citizens as long as they touch with more than two plots. You could buy the cubits with real money, but as far as I can tell so far, it isn't necessary to do so.Settlements are plotted areas with Prestige greater than 10,000. More similar to modded Minecraft, with the multiblock structures, but yes harvest, refine and place, with the ability to shape the blocks with a chisel and get really intricate in your designs. Every time you level and as a reward for completing objectives, you earn cubits which are the currency of plots and other in-game items. The plot is 8x8, and you do need to purchase more to expand, but they're easy to acquire. If you want to play solo, that's fine too. If you're feeling social, explore and find your neighbors. You'll be able to decide the kind of experience you want to have. You'll most likely be able to be relatively alone if you choose. You go to other planets through portals in order to use them, you'll need to level up and gather resources to make one, or use a public one built by someone else. As the planets fill with players, more planets are generated. This planet will have other players on, and you'll be pretty spaced out in the beginning. You'll decide what kind of world to start on, either passive mobs or hostile mobs. So i can always go and visit someone somewhere, but i can also go to somewhere on other side of galaxy if i want to build alone, right? Unfortunately the official FAQ only lists stuff like "can i upgrade my package" and "can i play on both PC and PS4", not any actual gameplay answers - but if you have a better FAQ somewhere, i'd appreciate that! How similar is gameplay to Minecraft building? Is it still harvest resources -> place "blocks", or is it different?įrom someone who played when the "paid elements" were introduced, how mandatory are those to enjoy the game? I read that plots etc can be bought with $$ - is it still viable to farm up ingame currency for those, or is going to be one of those "you technically can but you shouldnt" things? ![]() ![]() if you have a 10x10 can you buy an additional 10x10 right next to it to have a 20x10? can you keep buying more plots infinitely, or is there a hard/soft cap?)? How limited (in size) are the plot sizes? From what i understand, you need to buy plots to build there, similar to how "protection plots" worked in modded minecraft - but how big/small are these? Are those fixed or can you keep growing them (i.e. Is the multiplayer in this game forced or soft? I know that its online only, but is it going to be a "you can do it with others or you can do it alone", or is it going to be "if you're not with others, you're going to have a bad time"? ![]() So im hoping that i can find some answers here, considering game is releasing in just a few days.įrom what i understand, this is basically a mix of Minecraft and No Mans Sky, essentially everyone is on one giant server with lots of planets etc. I've tried to find answers but it was surprisingly harder than i expected.
